節水と下水道の使用制限について

General Situation 概況

On 28th January (Tuesday), in Yashio City (south-east of Saitama Prefecture), a large-scale roadway cave-in (sinkhole, subsidence) happened, probably caused by a unnoticedly-damaged big drain pipe (sewer pipe). In order to rescue the truck driver trapped and buried in the hole, and also to prevent wastewater floods in the area nearby, an official notice of restrictions on discharge of wastewater has been issued. Saitama Prefecture has been asking residents and companies in surrounding municipalities to cut back on water use, so as to reduce the flow of wastewater into the sewage system.
1月28日（火曜日）に八潮市（埼玉県南東部）で、大規模な道路の陥没が発生しました。下水管が気づかれずに破損していたことが原因と見られています。道路陥没で生じた穴に落ちたトラックの運転手を救出するために、また、周辺地域で下水が溢れてしまうことを防ぐために、埼玉県から下水道の使用制限が通知されています。県は、下水道システムへの排水の流入を減らすために、周辺の市区町の住民や企業などに水の使用を抑えることを求めています。
